So, you have a new business idea.. now what? Introducing the 'Lean Canvas' - an essential tool in the validation of your new business idea

About this workshop

Ideas for new businesses and ventures pop into our heads all the time. Sometimes, we pause to notice them, and other times we move on so quickly that we do not even remember. However, when an idea sticks with you day after day, so much so that you eventually feel the need to pursue it....how do you get started?

The Lean Canvas is a single page, that helps you get your initial thoughts and ideas about the essential early stage elements of a new venture, down on paper in a logical way. It helps you filter the information and determine its relevance....it helps you to see what you don't know...it helps you work out where you need some help...it helps you work out what you need to validate, before you start spending time and money on something that may, or may not be worthwhile.

During this 2 hour online workshop, you will learn:

  • Why it is important to validate first

  • What does it mean to 'fail fast'

  • How to use the Lean Canvas

What you will need

  • Internet connection and computer or phone (preferably with a headset), pens (a couple of colours recommended)

  • an A3 sheet of paper or a large whiteboard
