In this workshop we will tackle the idea of a fixed vs growth mindset and ensure you catch your “What if’s”, understand their purpose (they do have one) and sail on past them.

‘Reset and Re-imagine Your Life and Business’ Workshop Series

This is the second workshop in our new workshop series on resetting and re-imagining your life and business.

Workshop 2: Navigating your inner dialogues

About this workshop

This interactive workshop will show participants how to navigate their inner dialogues such as “What if I fail?”, “What if I succeed?” “How will I maintain it?” “People will judge me, and/or criticise me”.  We will focus on practical tools to push forward a growth mindset as opposed to a fixed mindset.  We will also deal with catching your “What if’s”, understand their purpose (they do have one) and sail on past them.

Rachelle Hampson.jpg

Rachelle Hampson has worked in private practice as a psychologist for the past 18 years and as a consequence of wearing out her saggy brown counselling chair she wants to stand up more and talk to the masses. Rachelle is also a university qualified Wellness Coach which means she works with her favourite group (busy professional women) who are struggling with stress, anxiety and burnout seen as lack of energy, weight gain, insomnia, chaos and overwhelm in any and every aspect of their lives (AKA their physical health, emotions, financial chaos, relationship neglect, home space clutter, career discontent). She helps find your mojo, get YOU on your TO-DO list at least, with the aim to have YOU at the top of the list. Essentially, she teaches you how to feel #youaregoodenuf

She has lots of very important pieces of paper including strangely a Master of Social Science in Criminology (from another life in law). She has been a mentor and workshop presenter for the Queensland Emergency Services for 15 years and has provided keynote speeches for wellbeing symposiums and corporate training across Queensland.

Rachelle also completed the Wire Program in 2018 and not only found it invaluable she made some great like-minded friends.

Guest Presenter

Vicki Mayne - Hoofprints of Change

https://hoofprints.com.au/

Vicki is the founder of Hoofprints of Change, Chinchilla. Hoofprints of Change helps families to disconnect from their digital devices and restore their communciation through their exciting and fun Equine Assisted Learning Programs and their Exclusive and Interactive Farm Tours.

Vicki is from Toowoomba, in Queensland, growing up in a thoroughbred racing family and spending her childhood riding show horses. A riding accident at the 1986 Brisbane Royal Show left Vicki with a crushed pelvis and right hip devastating her dreams to be a jockey. Despite her injuries, Vicki went on to represent both Queensland and Australia as a para-equestrian rider. She proved that there is no ‘DIS’ in the word ability by going on to become the first para-equestrian to be crowned National Rodeo Queen and compete successfully in the sport of rodeo with accomplishments including an All-round Cowgirl title. It was here in the rodeo arena that Vicki met her husband Shane and together with Vicki’s young son Phillip they settled down on a family cattle property North of Tambo in Western Queensland. Vicki was quickly recruited by the Tambo State School to teach practical horsemanship skills and establish a junior rodeo committee. In December 2000 Vicki underwent experimental surgery to allow her to regain movement in her right hip. The surgery, although marred by complications, proved successful due to the skills of the surgeon and Vicki’s commitment to her rehabilitation.

Severe drought conditions in 2002 combined with family dynamics saw Vicki and her family make the decision to pack up their belongings and leave their family cattle property. For the next twelve years they worked for other families helping build thriving cattle properties. It was during this time while establishing a breeder property in Central Queensland that Vicki was asked to implement, instruct and write a curriculum for a high school rodeo program dedicated to children from Baralaba and Woorabinda attending the Baralaba State School. The program was a success with the concept being adopted by other indigenous schooling communities throughout Queensland. Vicki and her family went on to spend ten years managing remote cattle stations in the Northern Territory. It is in the NT where Vicki discovered her passion for cattle genetics and saw her test her skills at catching wild bulls. A chance meeting at Katherine Show led to Vicki discovering the sport of polocrosse and see her go on to represent the NT as both a player and team manager at National level. Her team management skills did not go unnoticed and was recruited as the Australian Polocrosse Team Manager for the 2013 Four Nations Tournament. In October 2014 Vicki and her husband returned to Queensland and settled down on their own small cattle property north-west of Chinchilla establishing an Akaushi (Red) Wagyu breeding operation. History was to repeat itself with drought in recent years having a devasting impact on her family’s newly established wagyu stud and her farms ability to generate a sustainable income.

Acknowledging the necessity to diversify, Vicki established Hoofprints Of Change which provides an on farm soft skills development program called Equine Assisted Learning. Unrelenting drought conditions saw the necessity for Vicki to shift her focus from Hoofprints Of Change and redirect it to off farm employment. In late January 2020 Vicki made the decision to concentrate fulltime on re-establishing her Hoofprints Of Change business with the vision of expanding into the agri-tourism space. Momentum was taking off until COVID-19 quickly put this to a halt. Vicki was faced with not only a climate drought but a people drought. Throughout the COVID-19 restrictions Vicki has taken the opportunity to undertake formal small business management training, and recently accepted the part-time extension role of Climate Project Officer with the University Of Southern Queensland. Easing of COVID-19 restrictions has allowed Vicki to successfully deliver a tourism experience at Hoofprints Of Change for a Sunshine Coast family, reaffirming to Vicki that, despite all the setbacks, it is worth getting up and showing up every day regardless.
